More advanced topics that cannot be adequately addressed in the online CNA classes are dealt with in a lab-based on-campus environment instead. The topics covered in online CNA classes include human anatomy and physiology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, infection control, and the basics of pharmacology and developmental stages in life.

The online CNA classes are supposed to cover CNA policies and caregiving procedures, and they are taught in an online classroom, an arrangement that may be accomplished through video streaming.
